FROM THE EDITORA simple search of the keywords ’Cloud Computing’ returns 13.4 million results in Google! Certainly there is a lot of buzz on the topic and for good reasons. As more and more corporations turn to web–based applications to reach their customers and run their businesses, a sea change is underway on how they get computing power and software applications. Organizations want computing resources as a utility so that there is less need for individual investments but more ability to respond to business needs that match market fluctuations. This so called ’utility computing’ paradigm is greatly extended by the concept of ’Cloud Computing’ where computing is actually done in a remote location... into the ’Clouds’. To businesses, ’Cloud’ means Flexibility, Efficiency, and Scalability –and avoiding investments in computing infrastructure.
